Delta Responds To Accusations Of Palestine Display In Lounge
Several social media accounts have accused Delta of having a Palestine display in a Delta lounge in JFK:
Dear @Delta,
I understand that it is Arab American Heritage Month. But why does celebrating that include displays in your lounge @JFKairport that completely erase the State of Israel? pic.twitter.com/cuRA49eiG8— Mark Goldfeder (@MarkGoldfeder) April 15, 2026
The display depicts a country called Palestine with borders from the River to the Sea, though oddly with a capital in Ramallah.
It reminded me of when Delta claimed to operate flights to the “Occupied Palestinian Territories,” before walking that back, but not before one DansDeals reader gave them a hard time trying to book a flight from NYC to Ramallah.
In 2024, Delta banned crewmembers from wearing foreign-flag pins.
We reached out to Delta for comment, and they responded that,
“This photo is of a display organized by employees to recognize Arab American Heritage Month in an employee‑only break room – not a customer lounge. As a global company whose workforce reflects the world around us, we proudly recognize and support our people in celebrating many different cultures and heritage moments that are meaningful to them throughout the year – none of which reflect Delta‘s geo-political views.”
It’s certainly more appropriate for that to be in a Delta employee break room than in a lounge, but what do you think of the display being there?
