TSA Touchless is revolutionizing the airport security experience, but it has only been available at limited airports and checkpoints.

That has changed, with TSA Touchless now operational in 65 airports across the country:

You have to have a passport and a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via a program like TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or Nexus, and then you have to opt into TSA Touchless with each airline:

On your mobile boarding pass, you can see if you’re eligible for the TSA Touchless by checking for this logo:

There’s no need to show your boarding pass or ID, you just look at the camera and proceed to the PreCheck security lane. As with CLEAR, you should always still travel with your ID.

Unlike with PreCheck, kids need their own KTN to use the Touchless lane. Some agents may allow you to bring kids with you in that line, but your mileage may vary.

Kids can get a KTN via Global Entry for free if their parent has Global Entry.

For now, Touchless lines are a breeze and faster than CLEAR/PreCheck, making them a no-brainer. We’ll see if it remains that way as the program expands.

Have you used TSA Touchless?
