It might surprise you to know that I don’t actually shop that often. For someone who runs a travel fashion blog, that probably sounds counterintuitive, but I’ve always been intentional about when and where I spend.

My rhythm is simple: I save my big hauls for April, when retailers refresh their spring and summer collections, July, when the best sales of the year hit and restock up any items I need in November with the fall deals. It keeps things focused, exciting, and honestly, a lot more fun when the moment finally arrives.

Well, this haul? It might be my favorite one yet.

I know, I know,  jumpsuits are polarizing around here, and yes, the bathroom situation is a very real concern. But hear me out, because if you’ve ever written them off, this collection of effortless, comfortable styles just might change your mind.

Fair warning: there are a lot of jumpsuits ahead. I know that’s a polarizing word around here, bathroom logistics and all, but if you’ve ever written them off, a few of these effortless styles just might make you reconsider.

Here are the highlights, the wins, and yes, a couple of honest misses.

Toad&Co.

I was first introduced to Toad&Co. about ten years ago, and while they’ve always had popular bestsellers, what’s impressed me most recently is how much their collection has evolved.

Each season feels more refined than the last, and at the heart of that evolution is their Sunkissed line, one of the best travel fabrics I’ve come across. It’s wrinkle-free, lightweight, quick-drying, and incredibly practical.

Recently, they expanded the Sunkissed line beyond its original styles to include dresses, pants, and yes, jumpsuits.

Sunkissed Livvy Jumpsuit

I actually purchased this exact jumpsuit in a different color last spring, and it has since become one of my most-packed pieces. It came with me to Southeast Asia during my 3.5-month trip and gets regular wear here in Playa del Carmen.

When I spotted a new print this season, adding it to my cart was a no-brainer, I wanted something to rotate with my original. Just as expected, I love it completely, and I’ll be keeping a close eye on future prints as they release.

Gemina Tank Jumpsuit

This is another repeat purchase for me, and for good reason.

Much like the Sunkissed Livvy, I’ve been reaching for this one constantly since buying it last spring. It’s incredibly soft, easy to throw on, and ideal for days when you just want to get up and go. While I’d lean toward the Sunkissed Libby for travel specifically, this one earns its place as a reliable everyday piece. I was thrilled to find a new print this season and genuinely hope Toad & Co. continues expanding this style with more options.

Taj Hemp Tiered Midi Dress

This silhouette wasn’t something I had been personally drawn to before, but something about seeing it this season made me reconsider. It looked elegant, travel-friendly, and perfectly suited to the breezy, dressed-up atmosphere of Playa del Carmen.

I’m so glad I took the chance, it was a big win. The midnight color is sophisticated and neutral enough to work across a range of settings, from a casual dinner out to something slightly more elevated. It’s a great summer dress whether you’re at home or on the road.

Columbia

Columbia truly needs no introduction. It’s a brand I’ve trusted for years, particularly for technical travel gear. Their winter jackets, especially with Omni-Heat and waterproof protection, are something I recommend without hesitation. They carried me through Paris in the winter and kept me warm in Finland at minus fifteen degrees. That level of reliability is hard to overstate.

What sometimes gets overlooked, though, is Columbia’s warm-weather collection. If you’ve tried their Freezer dresses, you already know the fabric is extraordinary. Lightweight, packable, wrinkle-resistant, and supremely comfortable.

To me, the Sunkissed fabric from Toad & Co. and Columbia’s Freezer fabric represent exactly what Travel Fashion Girl is all about: the perfect balance of function, fashion, and comfort.

Chill River Short Sleeve Dress

This was a new discovery for me, and one I’m genuinely excited about. My longstanding frustration with “travel brand” dresses has been the empire cut, a silhouette that, for my body type, simply doesn’t feel flattering or modern.

So when I found a Columbia dress with a proper cinched waist that actually sits in the right place, I took notice. The Chill River is practical and lightweight, very close to the Freezer fabric in feel, and the neutral styling makes it far more versatile than your typical resort piece.

This is a dress I’d confidently pack for Europe in the summer, a beach destination, or a multi-stop trip that requires you to move between different settings.

A wonderful find, and one I think will resonate across a wide range of body types since Columbia offers standard sizing from XS to XXL as well as plus sizing from 1X to 3X.

Leslie Falls Dress II

This one was another new discovery, and a pleasant surprise.

I’m a fan of the collar style, I prefer to wear it open rather than fully zipped, and the overall silhouette is polished and wearable. I went with Crush Blue, which is outside my usual comfort zone, and I’m glad I did. It’s a sophisticated, pretty color that I think works beautifully for the style.

The only minor critique is the prominent Columbia logo on the front, but the overall look more than makes up for it. This dress is versatile enough to take you from an office setting with a layered sweater to a weekend away, a great addition to any travel wardrobe.

Natural Life

Natural Life is a brand I never would have discovered on my own, it was the TFG community that put it on my radar.  I figured a spring haul was the perfect opportunity to check them out.

The moment I landed on their website, I was genuinely surprised. Boho-chic prints, beautiful fabrics, comfortable silhouettes, and price points that felt almost too good to be true. I honestly expected pieces like these to cost three times more. Needless to say, I was immediately on board.

In the spirit of being more mindful about my purchases and reducing waste, I forced myself to narrow my cart from six items down to three. Now that I know the fit and the quality, future orders will be much easier, and yes, there will absolutely be future orders.

Sedona Jumpsuit

The color drew me in immediately, and I chose this style over a similar piece in the same colorway because I felt it would be more flattering for my body type. The verdict? Easy, comfortable, and completely wearable. I actually wore it right away.

One note for petite ladies: at 5’2″, I found it runs quite long, so hemming will be necessary for me. That said, it’s absolutely worth the small extra step, and here in Playa del Carmen, alterations are quick and affordable. For those at regular height or taller, this should be a beautiful fit straight off the rack.

Cotton & Lace Jumpsuit

This is not something I would have reached for on my own, and I’m so glad the TFG community pushed me out of my comfort zone. It’s lightweight, feminine, and unexpectedly stunning.

The prints, which I would typically shy away from, are subtle and rich without being overwhelming,  which makes them far more versatile than you might expect. I could see this working beautifully at a resort, in Bali, or anywhere with a relaxed, warm-weather vibe.

One thing to note: the vintage vines colorway does run slightly sheer, so I’d recommend pairing it with a nude underlayer. Here by the beach, that’s a non-issue, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Cotton & Lace Romper

Out of everything in this haul, this was one that didn’t work for me. The fit felt oversized, and the print just wasn’t right for my taste.

One sizing note worth flagging: the brand does tend toward a generous fit, so if you’re petite or prefer a more tailored look, sizing down may be worth considering, though options may be limited depending on the style. It wasn’t a total loss in terms of learning the brand’s sizing, but this particular piece simply wasn’t a match.

In the spirit of being more mindful about my purchases and reducing waste, I forced myself to narrow my cart from six items down to three. Now that I am familiar with the fit and the quality, future orders will be much easier, and yes, there will absolutely be future orders.

Zella Studio Luxe Pocket Bike Shorts

Nordstrom

I will be the first to admit that I had nearly twenty items in my Nordstrom cart and had to exercise some serious restraint. Since their spring sale is coming up in May with their Anniversary after that, I limited myself to the pieces I felt were truly worth paying full price for right now.

I am not typically a bike shorts person, but living in the heat of Playa del Carmen and returning to the gym made me reconsider.

These Zella Studio Luxe Pocket Bike Shorts are exceptionally soft, the kind of fabric you want against your skin on a warm day or during a workout. I initially bought one pair to test them out alongside the Free Fly Apparel All Day Pocket Bike Shorts, which I also want to acknowledge are a fantastic option, lightweight, forgiving, and very practical for travel.

For everyday wear comfort outside of travel, the Zella’s slightly thicker, buttery fabric won me over. I’ve since picked them up in pink, black, and navy, and added the matching Zella Studio Luxe Sweetheart Sports Bra to complete the set.

Yogalicious Romper

Belk

Belk wasn’t really on my radar until last year, when I discovered the Delsey 28” Flanerie that delivers major Chatelet vibes without the designer price tag.

After exploring further I then stumbled upon their Yogalicious line. It’s since become quite a favorite, particularly for life here in Playa del Carmen.

This tennis-style romper has become one of my go-to for staycations at local resorts and casual days at home. I’ve been pairing it with a lightweight linen top, a baseball cap, and simple sneakers, and one of the moms I see regularly actually stopped to tell me I looked like a “fancy tennis mom”, and honestly, I’ll take it.

On sizing: I went up from my usual size this time, and found it slightly too loose, whereas my previous size had been slightly too snug. I’m still figuring out the sweet spot, but the piece itself is a genuine win.

Yogalicious Air Lux Pleated Tennis Swing Dress

This is the longer counterpart to the romper, and I think I would have been better served going with my original size here. That said, I really like this dress. The added length and slightly more coverage in the neckline make it feel polished and put-together without requiring an overshirt.

It’s the kind of piece that transitions easily, from a resort walk to a casual dinner, or even layered with a tied button-down for an everyday look. The price point makes it even easier to love.

Wearing June & Hudson Smocked Bodice Print Jumpsuit

I picked up both of these on a whim, curious to see if they could elevate my going-out-to-dinner wardrobe here in Playa. They absolutely delivered.

June & Hudson Smocked Bodice Print Jumpsuit and Lace Up Back Wide Leg Jumpsuit

Both feel elegant and elevated without sacrificing comfort. The prints add just enough personality without being overwhelming, and the lightweight, packable rayon fabric means wrinkles should be minimal.

These are pieces that genuinely make you feel put together, and at Belk’s price points, they’re exceptional value.

O’Neill Kylan Woven Romper

This style of woven romper is one I first discovered locally in Playa del Carmen, and it has since become a staple. I wore versions of this nonstop throughout Southeast Asia, alongside my blue Zara linen cover-up, it’s one of those pieces I genuinely reach for all the time. It’s effortless beachside, works beautifully as a cover-up, and is perfectly suited to warm-weather living.

One sizing note: this brand tends to run on the junior side, so I typically size up. This time, however, sizing up resulted in a baggier fit than I prefer, so I’d recommend going with your usual size or even sizing down depending on your fit preference.

Despite the sizing miss, it remains a casual warm-weather favorite that I’ll continue wearing throughout the season.

Summerful Antigua Bralette Bikini Top and Cayman Brazilian Bikini Bottoms

Everything But Water

Living by the beach and feeling ready for a refresh from my usual Miraclesuit one-pieces, I decided to return to an old favorite for bikini options.

I’ve been a massive fan of the Maxswim Collection from Everything But Water since I first discovered them back in 2020 as they have the best non-wired full coverage bikinis I’ve ever found.

Finding swimwear with proper bra sizing has been a journey for me, it wasn’t until I had a fitting at Bravissimo in England that I truly understood how much the right sizing changes everything. It elevates your look, improves your comfort, and makes you feel genuinely put together.

I ordered:

I haven’t had a chance to try everything on just yet, so a full review of this section is coming soon, stay tuned.

SPANX AirEssentials Half Zip and Wide Leg Pant

Spanx

I’ll be honest with you: I have gone a little overboard on the Spanx Air Essentials collection. The fabric is so soft and comfortable that whenever something appears on sale, it’s genuinely difficult to say no.

That said, I’m drawing a line, no more after this haul.

AirEssentials Peak Long Sleeve Crewneck Top in Black (no longer available)

A word of caution here: this is not the same buttery Air Essentials fabric most of us know and love. It caught me off guard, as I’ve ordered it before expecting that signature softness and been surprised each time.

That said, the top itself is cute and versatile, somewhere between a fine-knit sweater and activewear , and I’m happy with the fit. Just go in with the right expectations.

AirEssentials Turtleneck in Storm

This one was a disappointment. I was hoping it would be a more affordable alternative to my Rhone mock neck, which I love.

Unfortunately, the sizing ran large, the sleeves were excessively long, and the storm color turned out to be a muted, unflattering eggplant rather than the cool-toned shade I anticipated. Note: These items were on final sale so returns aren’t possible.

On the topic of Spanx and two-piece travel sets, it seems like every brand has its own version now, so I’ve made it my mission to test and compare a full range of options, from budget-friendly picks to more premium sets.

I want to give you an honest, side-by-side comparison of the differences in fabric and quality. My full review is coming soon!

Unbound Merino Crew SweaterGibson Soft Cloud Scuba Luxe Everywhere Pant and Notch Neck Top

On My Wish List

A few things didn’t make it into this haul but are absolutely on my radar.

  • The Unbound Merino sweater caught my eye as a potential successor to the legendary J.Crew Tippi sweater, a capsule wardrobe staple that long-time TFG readers will remember fondly. Unfortunately, my order was canceled due to it being sold out. It will be first on my list for the next haul.
  • The Gibson Look Soft Cloud Scuba Luxe Everywhere Pant and Notch Neck Top two-piece set is another item I’m genuinely optimistic about. What sets them apart is the inclusion of short-sleeved tops, which is surprisingly rare in this category. Most sets lean toward sweatshirts or hoodies, but the Gibson Look tees feel tailored and polished even in a buttery-soft fabric. I haven’t ordered them yet, but they’re at the top of my wish list.
  • Finally, I had my eye on some travel accessories from The Container Store as part of my ongoing effort to source alternatives to Amazon.

My Last Purchases

Reef

Quince

Nordstrom Rack

Calpak

I simply forgot to order them in time, but they’ll be included in a future haul.

That’s a wrap on my spring shopping haul and what a haul it was.

As always, I’ll continue sharing honest reviews, sizing notes, and real-life wear updates as I put these pieces through their paces here in Playa del Carmen and on the road.
