Largest Southwest Transfer Bonus Ever! Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points To Southwest And Get A 30% Transfer Bonus!

There have only been 2 transfer bonuses from Chase to Southwest, a 20% bonus during COVID and a 25% bonus last fall.

Of course, Southwest added fees for everything over the past year and mileage redemptions are now dynamic, so you have to check to see if you’re getting a good value.

That being said, Southwest points are still quite valuable as there are no cancellation or change fees on award tickets, even in basic economy.

From now through 6/5 at 11:59pm ET, you can get 1,300 Southwest points for every 1,000 Chase points that you transfer.

Southwest points never expire, and they can be used for anyone.

If you have a Southwest companion pass, you’ll double the value of those points when you travel with a free companion.

The value of Southwest points is now variable.

For example:

• A flight from LaGuardia to Nashville on 8/18 costs $68.40 or 3,500 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.79 cents per point.
• A flight from LaGuardia to Chicago on 8/18 costs $88.40 or 4,500 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.84 cents per point.
• A flight from LaGuardia to Denver on 1/27 costs $128.40 or 7,000 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.75 cents per point.
• A flight from LaGuardia to Atlanta on 8/16 costs $138.20 or 7,000 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.89 cents per point.
• A flight from Baltimore to Los Angeles on 8/11 costs $168.40 or 11,000 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.48 cents per point.
• A flight from Phoenix to Maui on 8/16 costs $247.10 or 14,000 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.73 cents per point.
• A flight from Denver to Anchorage on 8/30 costs $210.10 or 11,500 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.78 cents per point.

As mentioned, those values aren’t entirely fair, as paid fares don’t have free changes or cancellations, while awards have free changes and cancellations.

If you can get a value of 1.7 cents per Southwest point, that imputes a value of 2.21 cents per Chase point, which is excellent!

That being said, I’d be wary of transferring in more points than you’ll use over the near-term, as Southwest can always devalue points, or start charging for award changes and cancellations.
