AMEX’s newest transfer partner is Leaders Club, from The Leading Hotels Of The World.

Last year, the AMEX Platinum refresh and Business Platinum refresh included the ability to get Leaders Club Sterling elite status. Consumer Platinum cardholders can enroll here. Business Platinum cardholders can enroll here.

The brands will partner even closer with point transfers.

1,000 AMEX points transfer into 250 Leaders Club points. That’s a 25% advantage over transfers from Citi to Leaders Club at a 1K:200 ratio.

You can find participating hotels here.

It’s always hard to find points hotels in Israel, so it’s worth noting that the country has 3 eligible hotels. In Jerusalem, there is the fabled King David Hotel, and in Tel Aviv, there are the Setai Tel Aviv and the Dan Tel Aviv hotels.

Points don’t expire if you earn or redeem points every 24 months.

When logged in, you can search for award rates here.

Leaders Club points appear to be worth about 8 cents each. That imputes a value of 2 cents per AMEX point, which is excellent! However, that value can be 10 cents each, which would be a value of 2.5 cents per AMEX point.

Best of all, you can use points for upgraded rooms and suites at the same rate.

  • Member benefits include:
    • Upgrade priority at checkin.
    • Daily breakfast for 2.
    • Early check-in and late check-out considerations.
    • Free WiFi.
    • Exclusive pricing.

With Sterling status from an AMEX Platinum card, you’ll also get 5 pre-arrival upgrades annually and elite bonus points on each stay.

Hotels in Israel include the King David, where points are worth 8.34 cents each:

And the Setai Tel Aviv, where points are worth 8 cents each:

There are lots of other excellent hotels.

In the Miami Beach/Boca area there are 3 hotels to choose from

And just to the north is The Nora Hotel and The Brazilian Court Hotel.

There are more than a dozen luxury hotel options to choose from in the Caribbean.

In Europe, there are hotels like the Ritz Paris, Ritz London, the Palazzo Roma, just a 15 minute walk to the Jewish ghetto in Rome, and the Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel, just a 10 minute walk from Chabad in the Jewish ghetto in Venice.

In the Maldives there are several excellent redemption options.

Disclaimer: The Maldives does not allow entry with an Israeli passport. This post isn’t suggesting that you travel to the Maldives, but reporting what the points can be used for. If you’re on the fence, I’d suggest asking a trusted source of guidance on what you should do in this situation.

The Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires is located near Chabad of Recolata and kosher restaurants.

If you want to travel off the beaten path, you can find hotels like the Nayara Hangaroa Easter Island, Constance Lémuria Seychelles, or the Constance Prince Maurice Mauritius.

The Nayara Bocas del Toro in Panama is an all-inclusive hotel with overwater villas. They will provide complimentary fresh kosher meals from Chabad!

This is a value of 8.74 cents per Leader Point, which is a value of 2.18 cents per AMEX point:

There are many more fantastic Leaders Club hotels!

You can transfer AMEX points to Leaders Club at a 1K:250 ratio or Citi points to Leaders Club at a 1K:200 ratio:
