Air Canada Suspending JFK Flights This Summer Due To Rising Jet Fuel Costs, American’s JFK-Montreal Flights End Next Month
It’s going to be more difficult to get from New York’s JFK to Canada this summer.
Air Canada is suspending all JFK service from June 1st through October 24th, with plans to resume service on October 25th. Currently, they fly daily between JFK and Montreal and 3 times daily between JFK and Toronto.
American previously canceled its JFK-Montreal route and will end all JFK-Toronto service as of May 21st.
Both airlines continue to serve Montreal and Toronto from LaGuardia and Air Canada continues to serve Montreal and Toronto from Newark.
Air Canada shared this statement with DansDeals about the suspension,
“As we regularly do, we monitor and review our network to ensure that routes are meeting profitability targets. As jet fuel prices have doubled since the start of the Iran conflict and some lower profitability routes and flights are no longer economic, and we are making schedule adjustments accordingly. Air Canada’s Toronto and Montreal services to JFK will be suspended temporarily from June 1, with plans to resume Oct. 25, 2026. Any affected customers will be contacted with alternate travel options. Air Canada continues to fly to LGA and EWR 34 times daily from six cities across Canada.”
Do you think Air Canada will return to JFK this fall? Are you affected by these cancellations?
