Disclaimer: Qatar Airways is fully owned by the country of Qatar. Should you fly on Qatar Airways? Religious Jews do so daily without incident, including ordering kosher meals and praying on Qatar flights. I’m reporting the news of what can be booked, and if you’re on the fence, I’d suggest asking a trusted source of guidance on what you should do in this situation.
Qatar QSuites business class award space availability seems to be feast or famine, but it has gotten much rarer in recent years.
Qatar will resume flying Philadelphia-Doha in August, and that has opened up widespread QSuites business class saver award availability for at least 2 passengers from September through next June when using BA or Qatar Avios, as flagged by Thrifty Traveler Premium.
Plus, you can get a 30% bonus for transfers from Citi to Avios this month!
You can combine Avios between BA, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Qatar on the BA site here.
You can search for award space by clicking “Book using Avios” on the Qatar Airways homepage after logging in.
Qatar QSuites is one of the highest rated business class products around. They can be configured into a closed suite for 1, 2, or even 4 passengers! They even provide delicious Hermolis kosher meals onboard!
And yes, travel on Qatar and stopping over in Doha is safe for religious Jews.
For example, a flight from Philadelphia to Abu Dhabi or Dubai will be 75K Avios, or 57,692 Citi points with a 30% bonus. Plus, you can select “mixed cabin” to fly in QSuites business class from Philadelphia to Doha and then first class from Doha to the UAE. You’ll also get access to Qatar’s award-winning Al Safwa First Class Lounge in Doha during your connection:
A mixed business/first class ticket to the Maldives will be 85K Avios (65,384 Citi points with the 30% transfer bonus):
A QSuites ticket to the Seychelles will be 85K Avios (65,384 Citi points with the 30% transfer bonus):
A QSuites ticket to South Africa will be 95K Avios (73,076 Citi points with the 30% transfer bonus):
A QSuites ticket to Asia will be 10K Avios (76,923 Citi points with the 30% transfer bonus):
You can transfer bank points to Avios instantly:
